Alternative Format Accommodations

Electronic Text (E-Text), Braille, Enlarged Text

If an approved accommodation for the student is converted text, the student must request this service through the Text Conversion Lab. To receive a textbook in alternative format the student must submit a list of the books to be converted to the Coordinator for Text Conversion. This list must include the title, author, edition, ISBN number and the date of publication. This information can be obtained from the iCampus portal. The due date of this list will be sent to all active text conversion clients each semester. Book lists submitted by this designated date will receive first priority for completion by the beginning of the following semester.

Assistive Technology

There are many types of assistive technology available to accommodate students with disabilities. Examples of technology available through Disability Concerns includes, but is not limited to:

A limited number computers are available in Disability Concerns and may be scheduled through the accommodation specialists on a first-come-first-served basis. Students wishing to use a computer must bring in a new disk that will be checked by Disability Concerns staff before use. Once a disk is brought in to Disability Concerns, it will be held in the Accommodations Office marked with the student's name. Absolutely no outside disks will be allowed in computers at Disability Concerns.

Ten accessible campus computer labs are available and can meet the student's computer needs. These labs are located in each of the residence hall complexes, Milner Library and Stevenson Hall 250 Computer Labs.
